Clearly influenced by the great masters of jazz fusion—from Larry Carlton to Lee Ritenour, including Scott Henderson and Jeff Beck (Songs Of Love)—guitarist Chris Rime has released a thoroughly enjoyable album, where the bluesy-funky touches in the nine compositions (all of his own—a fine achievement) lend the album a welcome punch and depth. Connoisseurs will appreciate the presence of two exceptional bassists: Hadrien Féraud (on “Bass Thumb”) and Dominique Di Piazza (on “After Chaos”).
